We have some exciting news to share: The Taco Stop has been voted the winner for Mexican Restaurant in the 2026 Best of Fort Collins Community’s Choice Awards!
We were also honored to place Top 3 for Vegetarian Food in Fort Collins, recognizing a side of our menu that we’re especially proud to offer.
These awards mean so much to our entire Taco Stop family because they come from the community that has supported us from the beginning. What started as a small taco cart in 2012 has grown into the Fort Collins Mexican restaurant we are today, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Our roots have always been in the flavors of Mexico City. From street tacos and Pastor Gringas to chilaquiles, enchiladas, fajitas, burritos and our rotating specialty tacos, our goal is to serve Fort Collins Mexican food that is full of flavor and made with care.
Being named the Best Mexican Restaurant in Fort Collins is an incredible honor for our team and another reminder of why we love being part of this community.
Whether you’ve been visiting since our food truck days or recently discovered us at our restaurant on Lemay Avenue, every meal, recommendation, review and vote has helped us get here.

Mexican food offers plenty of opportunities to create a great meal without meat, and our vegetarian menu includes options such as Spinach Tacos, Veggie Quesadillas, Nachos de Frijol, Bowl con Vegetales, Chilaquiles Verdes, Enchiladas de Espinaca and vegetarian Azteca Tacos.
It means a lot to see that part of our menu recognized alongside some of Fort Collins’ favorite vegetarian dining options.
When The Taco Stop began as a taco cart in Downtown Fort Collins, our goal was simple: share great food and the flavors we love with our community.
More than a decade later, that same community has helped name us the 2026 Best of Fort Collins winner for Mexican Restaurant.
